Finn prefers to expect the worst, while Eva challenges him to dream of a different outcome. Finn and Eva dance back and forth over the idea of living with hope. His familial history is problematic Skye Warren uses his character development to underscore a message about hope. It was burgeoning in the series’ first book, but it finds greater depth in this story. Finn has more character dimensions in this book. She doesn’t coddle him she sees him and speaks into his worry. She’s a natural caretaker and infuses this heart into her relationship with Finn. The Morellis have been problematic due to their upbringing, but Eva is intelligent and compassionate. Eva Morelli is my favorite Morelli in the Midnight Dynasty universe. Let me tell you what you should know for WHY you should read this story and its trilogy: Given that this second book starts where the first one left off AND ends with another complicated cliffhanger, I can’t divulge, or rather, I don’t want to reveal any of the book’s plot points in this review. There is an emotional gravitas to this story that had begun to infiltrate the first book of this series, One for the Money. Skye Warren’s second book in her One for the Money series, Two for the Show, quite honestly was surprising.
